Consider a brush or spray technique to produce your desired look for your mantel. - We will prime your mantel, for a small fee, to prepare the wood.
- Your mantel will need to be sanded to provide the smoothest feel when touched.
- Caulk is suggested where there may be visible cracks and to strengthen the bonds of the mantel.
- To complete your custom mantel, paint the mantel with your choice of paint.
Stain:  Stains bring life to the natural texture of wood; with careful and professional skill we guarantee that you are going to love your new mantel. To see your possible stain choices, visit Minwax. If you choose to have us stain your mantel, we offer a brushed on finish for enhancing the wood grain's natural look. Step 1, apply the stain to the wood to manifest the woods natural beauty. (Step 1 may be repeated twice if desired) Step 2, seal in the beauty by applying two protective layers of polyurethane. *** We recommend polyurethane instead of lacquer because it is less likely to turn milky colored with exposure to heat over time.
Care: Once painted or stained, your mantel will be safe for most basic cleaning and polishing agents. It is recommended that a coaster is used beneath any cold drinks, or any object that may scratch the surface of the mantel. |
